Materials Scientist


Super C (Newark, DE): Assist the Research and Development (R&D) team to fabricate and characterize metal thin films and carbon related nano-materials.

Duties include:

  • Use a highly sensitive and accurate vacuum sputtering system for the development and manufacture of metal thin films with precise thickness control.

  • Use a low pressure Chemical Vapor Deposition (CVD) system to deposit atomically thin films of carbon and graphite nano-materials onto the metal thin films.

  • Use advanced characterization equipment (SEM, TEM, AFM, etc.) to test and verify the nano-material properties.

  • Ensure safe and effective operation of the highly technical equipment during the research processes.

Requires a Master’s degree in Materials Science or a related field and 1 year of related experience.
Experience must include:
  • Controlling thin film depositions, operating vacuum sputtering systems, and working with characterization equipment and techniques (SEM, TEM, AFM, XRD, EDX and Raman spectroscopy) for material analysis.
